You Get What You Deserve

HibsHibs will not make it three finals in a row after being beaten at home by Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup. Manager Terry Butcher admitted they did not deserve to win after going behind three times in the 3-2 win for the Fife side. The Easter Road side recorded their fourth straight defeat and were booed off by their fans.

Butcher said: "No words can describe that, there are a few but I can't repeat them. I am bitterly disappointed because with our performance, we didn't deserve anything at all. Fair play to Raith, they rubbished us at the back, they passed it well and stopped us from gaining any sort of momentum. I can't believe we have turned in a performance like that when we've worked so hard during the week to win the game. It was unbelievable. We showed a bit of character to come back twice but second half they seemed to get a grip, especially in midfield. I felt sorry for Duncan Whatmore and Sam Stanton, those two very were good but the rest were very poor."

Raith Rover's will be watching carefully for the draw tomorrow but will be concerned about an injury picked up by Reece Donaldson, who was stretchered off with a suspected fractured cheekbone. Manager Grant Murray said: "I'm absolutely delighted, I think the players have to take credit for that. We always knew it would be difficult coming to a place like Easter Road against a very good Hibs side. To score three goals was magnificent and the effort was what was needed. I think it was just having that belief, you have to have the belief to make sure you're not just turning up here to make up the numbers."
