Think Of Others Before Yourself

Boyd said:  "It’s always good to get on the score sheet, it’s credit to my teammates because I will always get in positions to score goals and they were able to find me. They have been excellent over the past few months. It wasn’t a true reflection of the game that we were 1-0 down at half time. There were a few minor problems which needed to be addressed and we did that. I thought we totally dominated the second half, we scored two but could have had three or four.  That wasn’t down to bad play from Rangers, it was down to good play from Kilmarnock."

Boyd was also thinking of one of his previous mentors when he paid tribute to 1997 Scottish Cup winning manager Bobby Williamson after it was revealed he is battling cancer. Boyd added: "
Bobby was a big influence on my career.  Not just for myself, the full town of Kilmarnock remember 1997 and the Scottish Cup win.  He will always been in the memories of Kilmarnock fans. Bobby’s a fighter, he’s a winner so hopefully he can pull through.  It’s a difficult period for him but from the messages we exchanged with each other yesterday morning, he’s on the recovery road. Hopefully he can get through that and we can see him back here at Rugby Park in the future."
