Brechin City, like a lot of clubs, could do with more fans clicking through the turnstiles on match-days. Chairman Ken Ferguson is calling on their fans to come along and enjoy the fine performances of Jim Weir’s men. Ferguson said: "We are competing at the top end of the table and had a good run in the Co-operative Insurance Cup so it has been a great opening to the season. However the management committee at the club feel disappointed by the attendances at our home matches. We fully appreciate these are difficult economic times but one aspect of running a successful team is that success brings increased costs. We always strive to do the best that we can for players and hence that is why we are an attractive side to join despite our geographical location. However winning games results in bigger bonuses which are usually compensated by higher crowds but that sadly that is not the case." |
