The Fir Park future looks bright according to Jamie Murphy who believes the club will build on their initial success under Craig Brown. A 12-game winning run was ended last week by Dundee United and the club now sit just two points off a guaranteed European place. Murphy is sure Motherwell can bounce back from last weekend's defeat and push for Europe, and then look forward to next season with optimism as the likes of Stephen Craigan and Keith Lasley consider the offer of contract extensions. Murphy said: "Stevie Hammell has signed a new contract and he deserves that because he has been one of the best players this season. I'm sure a few of the others will follow him. If they do that, there's only going to be an improvement for next season. That's really the big aim - once we get Europe - to try to improve for next season. Everyone is going into every game looking forward to it. There are a couple of big games coming up and hopefully we can push for Europe. We know last week was maybe a blip, but hopefully this weekend we can come out flying like we had been doing in the previous weeks." |
