Jim McIntyre IIDunfermline manager Jim McIntyre does not buy into the rumours that Dundee United are on their last legs football-wise. There have been rumours circulating that manager Peter Houston would be looking for new employment soon which Dundee United have dismissed as "simply speculation and rumour". That has the tinge of the dreaded vote of confidence that usually comes just days before the P45 arrives in the post. United have only won two league games this season which means they sit one point above Dunfermline in 10th place ahead of their trip to East End Park on Saturday. It didn't help Houston's cause to watch United getting knocked out of the Scottish Communities League Cup quarter-finals in mid-week after a penalty shootout with Falkirk following a 2-2 draw at Tannadice. The Pars are aiming to pile more misery on Houston's head by repeating the win they secured over United at Tannadice in August, their last win.

Former United striker McIntyre said: "No two games are the same and Dundee United are a very good side. I watched them on Tuesday night and they did exceptionally well, they just couldn't score. But they bossed most of the game and I'm sure they will be coming here to put that right. It is tight and I think one win will jump them up to sixth place. So I'm sure nobody is panicking there, it's a case of putting the ball away and moving up the table. But we can't be concerned with what's going up there, we have to look after our own corner and make sure we get the right result."
