McCoist Knows Nothing

C:WindowsTempphpFDC5.tmpAlly McCoist continues to say he has no idea what is happening at the club with regards to possible investment to secure the future of the club. Glasgow-born Dave King has launched his latest attempt to gain control at Ibrox by apparently offering 50 per cent of a £16m investment with two other businessmen. Rangers have hit financial difficulties just over two years since former owner Charles Green launched the new club. King was previously on the board of Rangers before that club was placed in liquidation in 2012. He travelled to Scotland last week, from his South African business base, to discuss rescue plans with some of the current Rangers board, including chief executive Graham Wallace. King is hoping to secure a 51 per cent stake in the club, despite having failed to invest in any shares since they became available on December 2012.

McCoist revealed last week he had spoken to King prior to his arrival in Glasgow, but the Rangers manager claims he is in dark over the businessman’s plans. McCoist said: “There’s been nothing, not a thing. Sadly I can’t tell you anything else further from the press conference on Friday. I haven’t spoken to anybody about meetings or anything like that. I haven’t spoken indeed to Graham about the situation. I’ve spoken to him about football matters, as you’d expect, and indeed I haven’t spoken to Dave King either. I haven’t spoken to anybody.”
