Cowdenbeath manager Gary Locke has quit the Fife club to take up a full time position ambassadorial role with Hearts. He will be replaced as manager of the Blue Brazil by his number two at Central Park, Billy Brown, who worked closely with Locke last season and brings an invaluable wealth of experience to the role. I am sure the club will be hoping Brown will be making sure there will be important games at the end of the season at the top of the table rather than avoiding relegation as last season ended.
Chairman Donald Findlay said: "Of course I am sorry to see Gary leave. However, in his time at Central Park we have become friends and I always made it plain to him that I would not stand in his way if the opportunity came along to join a bigger Club and I am well aware of his affection for Hearts who have acted with absolute propriety in this matter, as I would expect. I will always be grateful for what he and Billy Brown did for the Club at the end of the Season and I have every confidence that Billy will carry on the good work. He is a vastly experienced manager and coach and one of the game’s gentlemen. I very much look forward to working with him and I am confident that all supporters will get behind Billy and the team in the Season ahead".
