St Mirren defender David Van Zanten and his teammates are still enjoying that winning feeling over Celtic from last season's 4-0 home win over which ended Tony Mowbray's time as manager at Parkhead. Van Zanten returned to St Mirren in the summer after a spell at Hibs and was quickly brought up to speed on the famous win which Celtic will be looking to avenge at New St Mirren Park today. He said: "I wasn't here for that game but the players have been speaking about it since I rejoined to be honest. They can't let go of it. Obviously it was a great result for the lads, especially after disappointment of losing the Co-op Cup final to Rangers days before. Results like that don't happen often. Everyone else will look at as a freak result. But it gives us a little bit of confidence that things like that can happen and we will keep our fingers crossed for Sunday. We obviously know that we will have to be at our best to get something from the game.'' |
