Celtic made their first step on the road to beat their own unbeaten record when they took on Partick Thistle tonight at Parkhead. A 2-0 win means they only have 69 games to go to create another line in their history book. Celtic lost 4-0 to Hearts on Sunday and were a suitably subdued home side which led at half-time thanks to powerful 35th-minute goal by midfielder Stuart Armstrong. Brendan Rodgers' side continued to labour after the break before left-back Kieran Tierney added a second in the 67th minute to secure the win which took them five points ahead of second-placed Aberdeen, who visit on Saturday. |
