Blue Brazil Strip Show

C:WindowsTempphp60B8.tmpIt is still unclear in which division Cowdenbeath FC will be playing their football next season but that hasn't stopped the self styled Blue Brazil from revealing some of the merchandise that will feature in season 2014/15 as the Fife club enter their second season with German kit makers Uhlsport and suppliers Football Nation of Edinburgh.

As the only Scottish League team backed by a German kit manufacturer, Cowden have continued to punch above their weight in the Championship. Visits to Tynecastle and Ibrox next season in a second tier that would resemble an SPL 2 would constitute major success for a small club that has seen more success in the first 14 years of the 21st Century than at any time in their Post-WW 2 history.

After many seasons playing in a Brazil-style 'Away' kit Cowden went back to the 80's this season and went with red for their change colours. A yellow Cowdenbeath kit is still available to fans as a ''3rd'' kit but next season the club will adopt a 2nd shirt that celebrates the clubs kits of the early 20th Century (see facebook pic / link).

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has often said he changed the Welsh club's colours from blue to red because red is the Asian colour of success. Sadly, the red away kit hasn't brought luck for Cowden this season so far as.they are yet to win in it playing in the Championship with eight games of their league season to go.

However, the new white with red stripes away top is sure to fly off the shelf of the club shop when it goes on sale soon. Whether it will star at Ibrox rather than Balmoor, Dundee instead of Brechin is yet to be decided.

This writer predicted a month ago that a Fife derby would end the current league campaign and a Cowdenbeath v Dunfermline Play-off final for a Championship place would capture the Kingdom's imagination in May. With the local rivals still locked in second bottom and second top in their respective leagues there is nothing to suggest that a winner takes all Cowden - Pars double header won't be the case at the end of the current campaign.
