Then Two Come Along In One Game

Hearts produced an impressive performance to win 3-0 over Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Double goal scorer Calum Elliot believes the arrival of Christian Nade has provided him with the perfect strike-partner to play alongside. The dynamic duo linked up to create Hearts' second goal which came when Nade nutmegged Grant Munro before setting off on a surging run which saw him power past Russell Duncan. A low cross into the box was clinically dispatched by Elliot who admitted he relishes working with Nade. Elliot said: "Christian is a great player and he has got so much ability it is unbelievable. It is great to play alongside somebody like him who can hold the ball up. He is strong and knows where the goal is as well so to play alongside him is good for me. I can try and make runs off him and try to use his experience to my advantage."

Prior to Elliot's first goal of the game, Hearts had taken the lead when Christos Karipidis headed Andrew Driver's corner into the net from close range. It was Elliot who scored the third goal soon after the restart. Ian Black made a poor back pass to goalkeeper Michael Fraser which was short and as the home side tried desperately to scramble the ball clear, the ball broke to Elliot who confidently clipped it into the net. The goals at the Caledonian Stadium were the first time this term Elliot has found the back of the net in the SPL. The Edinburgh boy has been the target by some sections of the Tynecastle support for his lack of goal threat but Elliot hopes he can go on to become a regular goalscorer for the rest of the season. He said: "
The supporters are entitled to their criticism but at the end of the day it is up to the players on the pitch to try and get the performances for them. I've not scored as many goals as I wanted to but I've got two today so that is hopefully the first of many for the season. To score two goals will be great for my confidence and hopefully now I can focus on getting more goals for the team."
