Captain Fleeting

Just what has Daviebee been teaching the love of his life? Scotland captain Julie Fleeting has annoyed the local San Diego ‘soccer-moms’ with her celebrations after scoring a goal. The 22-year-old moved over to the US earlier this year to play for San Diego Spirit and has proved to be a big hit with the locals. However, this may change after news gets around about her celebrations after equalising for the Spirit against New York Power. Julie got on all fours and pretended to wee over the corner flag. Not something that would raise any eyebrows over here but our American cousins are more sensitive to such displays

The Spirit fans' website has been swamped with messages complaining about Fleeting. One fan said: "Hopefully we won't get a repeat. Most of the parents in the audience didn't appreciate their daughters seeing their heroes doing something so low-brow." Another fan said: "That's got to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen." A friend said: "She was only having a laugh and won't see what all the fuss is about." On Saturday, dad Jim, a former Kilmarnock manager who also played in the States for Tampa Bay Rowdies, said: "I don't know much about her goal celebrations, I never ask. She's just a young girl out there enjoying herself." Perhaps understandably, Julie was unavailable for comment about the incident.
