Under 19s Draw With England

Last updated : 23 September 2003 By Ed_ScottishFitba
Scotland's women under 19s started their UEFA qualifying campaign today with a 0-0 draw against England in the Romanian town of Mogosoaia. It was an excellent performance from the girls, who put together a fine passing game in the intense heat. They felt unlucky not to win the game.

A penalty claim was turned down in the first half, while twice in the second half a forward was foiled only by a last gasp save by the English goalkeeper, after Scotland broke down the defence. Scotland look forward to meeting their hosts, Romania, on Thursday evening, before finishing off their group games against Ukraine on Saturday. The top two in the group progress to the next round.
