Scotland Draw Again

Last updated : 18 March 2003 By Ed_ScottishFitba
The women of Scotland managed to secure a draw against their counterparts from the Republic of Ireland on Sunday. The Under-19 side drew 1-1 at Livingston yesterday as they coped without the services of Hibs stars Jane Doig, Suzanne Malone and Kirsty McBride. They missed out as a result of the friendly clashing with their club’s top-of-the-table clash with Kilmarnock. Hibs did without Diane Barry for the first 30 minutes of their game as she was late from getting back from Livingston. Although Scotland had beaten Ireland 2-1 in Dublin last month they had to be content with a share of the spoils this time. The Irish had learnt some lessons and proved to be a tougher proposition this time around.

Scotland took the lead on the stroke of half-time thanks to captain Suzanne Grant. However, Ireland hit back on the hour mark through Susan Dunns. Scotland coach Tony Gervaise will now have to gee up his side before they start their UEFA fixtures next month when they will take on Belgium, Norway and the Czech Republic.

Scotland Under-19s: Caroline Collie, Shelly Grant, Amy McDonald, Louise Curley, Joelle Murray, Suzanne Lappin, Suzanne Grant, Hollie Thomson, Anne Houliston, Lisa McKenzie, Sarah Hough.
