On A Foreign Field

There are a lot of European games involving Scotland this weekend. The Under 21s and A squad face Germany on Friday and Saturday respectively and Scotland's women take on Portugal also on Saturday. The women will be kicking off in Oporto just as the A squad finish their game at Hampden. The women will have a tough time as they will have to face not only the heat but also tough opponents. The flew out today to get used to the conditions. The women can look back to a 2-0 away victory over the same team back in December, so Scotland are looking to pull off a shock competitive victory. Last month's 5-1 thrashing of Ukraine has helped to wipe the memory of the opening five goal defeat to Germany. Another win on Saturday will consolidate Scotland's position in the top level of European women's football.

Vera Pauw's Scotland squad is made up of:

Michelle Barr, Linda Brown, Amanda Burns, Tracy Burns, Stacey Cook, Gemma Fay, Julie Ferguson, Julie Fleeting, Mhairi Gilmour, Suzanne Grant, Pauline Hamill, Claire Johnstone, Joanne Love, Kirsty McBride, Suzanne Malone, Julia Ralph, Suzanne Robertson, Julie Smith and Megan Sneddon.
