Scotland Under 19s made the best possible start to their involvement in the La Manga Tournament in Spain last night when they beat, defeating Austria 3-1 in their opening game. They came back from being a goal down to run out comfortable winners.

The Austrians scored in the fourth minute and it was another 40 minutes before Scotland levelled things up thanks to the ball going in off an Austrian defender. In the second half, Scotland had the chance to take the lead in 66 minutes with a penalty but Rangers' Steven Lennon's effort missed the target. However, just three minutes later Aberdeen's Chris Maguire scored, and shortly afterwards, in the 74th minute, victory was secured with a third goal courtesy of Hibs' Darren McCormack.
