"..I just want to go there and enjoy the experience."
Lee Wallace is determined to enjoy his first Scotland call-up after coach George Burley pulled the Hearts left-back into his squad which will travel to play Japan. Wallace and Aberdeen striker Lee Miller were brought in for Saturday's friendly in Yokohama after Danny Fox, Kevin Thomson, Robert Snodgrass and Garry O'Connor withdrew through injury. Former Scotland Under-21 international Wallace had been tipped to make the original squad so he was pleased to be asked to join the squad at the second attempt.

He said: "
I am just happy to be involved. I was a lot more confident last season and hopefully this will help me keep improving as I'll be training with a lot of top-quality players." Wallace is the only natural left-back in the squad but Rangers right-back Steven Whittaker will expect to continue in the position following his impressive performance in last month's 1-0 defeat by Holland. Wallace went on: "It may be a friendly but Japan are still a top team and of course I want to play. I know I wasn't in the original squad but I just accepted that and knew I just had to get on with my game and keep doing what I had been doing. I think the manager has seen me often enough and knows what I can do and I just want to go there and enjoy the experience."
