Sorry.. but it’s Scotland's national team again and another part pink jobby which might have been a McDonald’s staff uniform for all points north of Gretna! The shirt is based on the World Cup 1990 away kit which was yellow and dark blue but who wants to remember that shirt? Scotland lost to Costa Rica 1-0 in it at Italia 90. Scotland beat Gibraltar 6-0 away in the 'McDonalds' shirt in their (unsuccessful) qualifying campaign for Euro 2016 but Steven Fletcher wearing a hipster beard and this effort won't ever be in a Top 10 of memorable images of the Scotland national team.. even in Scotland!

Jimmy Greaves wore this shirt on iconic ITV Saturday football preview show Saint and Greavsie at the time as a joke and it isn’t so much the Blue Brazil (Cowdenbeath FC's tragi-comedic nickname) as the Auntie’s Quilt of football kits. It’s advertising Cowdenbeath FC's home ground Central Park’s other sport of Stock Car Racing on the front ,as if it needed it, with crowds in four figures for the motor sport while Cowden struggled on home attendances of 500 at the time.

There is no way kit makers can mess with the famous green and white hoops of Celtic too much so they attempt to get creative with away and 3rd kits at Parkhead. This disaster of the early 1990's only added insult to the injury of an all conquering Rangers team taking control of Glasgow and Scottish football at the time under Graeme Souness and then Walter Smith. One can only have imagined what the legendary Jock Stein might have said if presented with this explosion in a paint factory when he was taking Celtic to nine League titles in a row and the European Cup as the first British team to win it.

The Gers have actually had some good away and 3rd kits over the years but this rarely seen purple presentation was strictly for the local 5-A-side courts or the beach in Spain. Somebody should have told the German kit makers Rangers fans sing "We are the people" not "We are the purple!" Something Scotty in Star Trek might wear as a uniform after revealing he supported the blue half of Glasgow. "Set Phasers to stun Captain, I canny change the laws of physics..or what the Puma design team put oot!!"

The iconic black stripes on white of the Fife team who carry one of the biggest supports outside Scotland's three major cities of Edinburgh,Glasgow and Aberdeen can be thin or thick depending on the era but this attempt by Le Coq Sportif to feature Athletic's famous triangular badge in the design was a faux pas and French folly which makes the shirt look more like something an F 1 or Tour De France fan would wear. Not a 'Landmark' shirt for a team that featured in European club competition all through the 1960's and once had Alex Ferguson on their books when he was a player. Not to be mistaken for a tea towel!
