C:WindowsTempphpC311.tmpSt Mirren continue to dominate the Scottish Championship after beating the side currently in third place, Dunfermline, 2-1 at East End Park tonight.  The Buddies are now 11 points clear of closest rivals for automatic promotion Dundee United although the second placed side have two games in hand.  However, St Mirren manager Jack Ross would prefer to have the points secured than games in hand I am sure.  Cammy Smith took advantage of a back heel from colleague Lewis Morgan to get the opening goal for the visitors in the first half.  However, it was all square early in the second half when Nicky Clark latched on to a header from Jean-Yves M'voto to bring the Pars level.  The Buddies were not to be denied the three points on the road and Kyle Magennis's free-kick was tipped over by home 'keeper Lee Robinson before Jack Baird's deflected volley put the visitors back in front till the end of the game.

Ross said: "Brilliant win. It didn't surprise me the nature of the match. Frenetic towards the end but I thought we showed terrific character and resilience in that period. It's another one down, another three points on the board, a really good points total already but a long, long way to go. This was a tough game for us tonight. Delighted to get the win."  His Dunfermline opposite number Allan Johnston summed things up with: "I don't think there was a big gap between St Mirren and ourselves tonight so we've got to take a bit of heart from that but it comes down to winning games."
