Site News

For over three years I have struggled to keep this site going as a one man operation in the main. With just over 2 years on the Rivals network and nearly a year on the Footymad network, the time has come for me to face reality. Despite some interesting times and campaigns, such as backing the SFA in their race for EURO2008, I have decided I cannot continue alone. After much soul searching and following a series of discussions, culminating in one held at Broadwood after the Under 21 game against Iceland, I have agreed to work in partnership with the SFA. The resources available to the SFA including someone who can monitor the site all day will assist me in running the ScottishFitba site and allow me to reclaim my life a little.

Andy Mitchell, Director of Communications at the SFA, will take over the strategic direction of the site. He has agreed that the site will maintain it's independent stance and be able to comment on SPL and SFL clubs as well as the national side. There will obviously be some changes along the way but I hope they will be kept to a minimum. From now on, the 'Bless this Forum', 'Tit For Tat' will be closed and the main board will be monitored 24/7 so that any and all subjects which could cause embarrassment to the SFA will be deleted. This also means that any non-football related posts will also be deleted. The administration of the board will come under Andy and his team to allow me time to write more stories of an evening. We are still in discussion about my preference for no bans to be imposed and I will keep you posted on how these discussions progress. I am sorry that it has come to this but I need a rest. I have writen stories for the site every day for nearly three years and not had a break since last April. First chance I get, I will let you know how things are progressing. I hope that you will continue to support the site under the new partnership arrangement.
