The Big Three?

"..people want to get a good result against us.."
Rangers and Celtic have been joined by Hearts in the group of the teams everyone wants to beat in Scotland. Not my view but that of Hearts goalkeeper Steve Banks. He also thinks that Hearts are still in contention for the second spot in the SPL that brings with it a place in the Champions League. Both Aberdeen and Rangers are still ahead of the Tynecastle side at the moment but that means nothing to Banks. But Craig Gordon's understudy with the famous goalkeeping name claims teams make an extra effort against Hearts. Dundee United, managed by former Hearts coach Craig Levein, pay a visit on Saturday and Banks expects another difficult game for fourth-placed Hearts. He said: "
There are a lot of reasons why we have a lot of tough battles now. Obviously Craig Levein is coming back as manager, wanting to get a good result for himself and his team. But I think people now see Hearts as a massive club and people want to get a good result against us and show their fans what they can do against a big side."

Last season Hearts managed to get past Rangers to second spot in the SPL, and also won the Tennent's Scottish Cup. This season has been less productive and affected by off-field controversies, but Banks said: "
I think people have lifted their games against Rangers and Celtic before - I think you can put Hearts into that mould now. After what we achieved last year, everyone is gunning for us really and it's made it tough." With a Champions League place on offer to the SPL runners-up, Banks went on: "The lads have done tremendously well to hang on in there and we've still got enough games left to maybe sneak into second place. If we manage to slip into third place then we've still got Europe but we'll be going for second."
