Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word

His initials are JC and it's widely believed in parts of Leith that, if he wanted to, he could walk on water. But what about TC? Is he going to be a 'doubting Tommy' or will he stick by his boss through the current disciple's revolt?

The 'Waters of Leith' have parted and all is still not well on the Eastern front despite a pledge from club captain Rob Jones that there will be no repeat of the 'Easter Road Mutiny' as long as he is part of the club. In a statement issued by him on behalf of the Hibs players last night, he stated that at no time did the players request the removal of the management team.

John Collins is a rookie manager but with a strong willpower and a determination to succeed and have things done his way. Many believe that because he was a great player he feels that his current squad are under achieving if they don't attain his level of performance (and Hibs have demonstrated that on many occasions this season by failing to 'kill off' teams that they are dominating).

On the other hand, because he is labelled as a rookie manager, the more experienced and 'time served' players at the club may not be happy taking their instructions from an in-experienced boss. This may have caused the initial dispute. Who knows, but will it all end here?

We've witnessed a similar event recently in the 'Land of Govan' when Paul Le Guen was cast adrift to allow the return of Walter the 'Prodi-gal son'. The latter has taken Rangers from the wilderness of the league to greener pastures and who would doubt that if he had been in position from the beginning of this season the battle for top spot would have been much closer.

So can John and Tommy take the Hibs team on from here? They still have one realistic target left this season, the Scottish Cup, to add to the CIS cup already in the Easter Road cabinet. Or will they or the players that JC has identified as not being able to trust move on in the summer?

Have the 'Waters of Leith' finally settled? Can JC and co. get on with the job in hand or will there be another 'final' twist to this saga? Only time and results will tell.
