Players do not appear to want to jump ship in these difficult times.

Despite their precarious position at the bottom of the SPL, Partick Thistle are still managing to hold onto players. The latest players to agree extensions to their current deals are Grant Murray and Steven Pinkowski. The former has agreed a two-year deal, and goalkeeper Pinkowski has agreed to stay for another year. Thistle co-manager Derek Whyte said: "This is a really good piece of business for us. Grant Murray, in particular, is good news. He is the right type of person to have around the dressing-room. I don't think that he has missed a day's training this season and to have him here is certainly something that is pleasing to us and hopefully it will send out a message to the remaining two players who have still to sign new deals. Steven has had a very good season and we do feel that he has a real chance to make it. His progress this year has been excellent and I am sure that he will get his chance in the not too distant future. We have signed him up for another season and we hope that he will make the same type of progress next season too."

Murray moved from St Johnstone last June but already appears to be a fan of what Whyte and Gerry Britton are doing at Firhill. He thinks that players are persuadable to stay because the new management team of have earned respect in the dressing-room. Murray said: "It is the way they go about their business that makes it a good place to be at the moment and I hope that we can have better times from now on."
