Net Cast Closer To Home

Hearts sent their scouts down south on Easter Monday to take advantage of a fixture list in England to see potential signings in action. Assistant manager Stephen Frail sat tight in Edinburgh and is keen to see and hear the reports. It was not a scattergun approach for the scouts, targets had been identified and a number of games were covered. Hearts have already said they are looking to buy from British clubs this summer, and have so far managed to keep the names of the players under observation to themselves. That is how they want it, and Frail was quietly confident the venture had been a success.

He said: "
It was certainly a worthwhile exercise. It is all about casting our net far and wide as we look for players who will enhance our squad for next season. We have quality here but we need to add to it. There were a few of us at games yesterday in England because of the holiday programme down there and we'll all sit down shortly and compile individual reports on each player."
