Change Of Mind

Last updated : 22 March 2007 By Ed_ScottishFitba

Funny how a lot of your problems can disappear when you have some good news to celebrate. Hibs winger Ivan Sproule has withdrawn his threat to quit the club and has promised to stay at Easter Road. The Northern Ireland international, who helped Hibs win the CIS Cup last weekend, threatened to quit Scotland last month feeling he was getting a raw deal from referees. Sproule has now had a rethink and has set his sights on enjoying more success with Hibs. The CIS Cup winners medal in his back pocket may have something to do with this change of mind.

Sproule said: "There was never a grudge with the club or anybody at the club. The gripe was with referees as I felt I was being wrongly punished. Sometimes in life you have to say what is on your mind and there is no use letting it all build up. I am looking to the future and since that red card happened I have picked up and pushed on. I have a medal to my name now and all I am concerned about is doing well in my career. I am in the right place to do that at Hibs. I have signed a contract until 2009 and the fans have been fantastic to me since day one."
