Under 19s Hold Their Own

Although Scotland's Under 21s lost last night to Norway, their Under 19s counterparts at least managed to get a draw against Turkey. They were looking as if they were going to win their second game in a row until they lost a late equaliser in their UEFA Under 19 qualifier yesterday afternoon. The game ended in a 2-2 draw, but it means the young Scotland team only need just a draw against hosts Belgium in their final match on Sunday.

Scotland rallied after Turkey took the lead in 34 minutes, and Celtic's Rocco Quinn levelled the score at the vital time of two minutes before half time. In the second half, Scotland had to cope with being reduced to ten men for the second consecutive match as Steven Naismith of Kilmarnock was shown the red card for a second booking. This did not appear to worry them to much and they still forged forward and took the lead in 73 minutes through Rangers youngster Ross McCormack. Unfortunately, an equaliser from Turkey's just three minutes from the end meant the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Scotland's final game is against Belgium on Sunday at the Stade Pays de Charleroi, with a 4.00 pm kick-off .
