The Auld Alliance meant nothing last night as Scotland's Under 19 women's side lost out to their French counterparts.
Scotland's young women lost out to France 3-1 in their second Under 19 UEFA Finals match in at Andrashida, Hungary, last night despite taking a early first half lead. Scotland were up against a fine French team, but took the game to their opponents. They shocked the Frence by taking the lead in 14 minutes, thanks to a great strike from Pamela Liddell. It took France until five minutes before the break to get back on level terms, and even then it was only through an unfortunate Hollie Thomson own goal.
In the second half, the difference in quality between the sides was evident and France team made their superiority pay. They scored twice through Castera, who netting in 48 minutes, and Courteille, after 75 minutes to make the final score 3-1. Scotland's last game will be against Russia on Monday.
