Scotland Under 19s managed to secure a good 0-0 draw against European champions Spain in their opening match of the Northern Ireland mini-tournament on Saturday afternoon.

It had to be a great defensive performance from the youngsters at Ballymena Showgrounds. Although Scotland made few chances, mostly from set pieces, they can take great satisfaction from the way the defenders nullified the Spanish attack. One shot was cleared off the line, but otherwise the Spanish were restricted to a couple of chances. This allows Scotland to go into their next game, against hosts Northern Ireland this evening, in good spirits.
