Barry Ferguson can't wait to get back into the national side to play his part.

| Scotland manager George Burley does not want the unsettling and unseemly squabble over Kris Boyd's decision not to play for him to affect other players eligible to play for Scotland. The national side have lost the services of Boyd along with team mate Lee McCulloch and it has been rumoured that others are about to follow. Burley has spoken to his squad to avert further unrest and was pleased to hear the response from Barry Ferguson. Burley spoke to Ferguson 24 hours before the Rangers and Scotland captain made his comeback against Inverness after five months on the sidelines through injury.
Ferguson confirmed that he is fully committed to the national cause and is relishing playing his part in the new regime. After that chat is looks certain that Ferguson will be named in the squad to face Argentina in a friendly later this month. Burley said: "I spoke to one or two players and they are annoyed at certain rumours that were mischievous and disappointing. I know Barry was disappointed that people have been asking about his commitment to the country - and I have spoken to others too. I think Barry was hurt by that. He is desperate to play for his country. There were rumours that he was thinking of pulling out but he categorically told me that was never the case. Unfortunately he's missed the campaign so far because of injury and we've got our fingers crossed he can play a big part from now on."
