The SFA have confirmed that Pittodrie will be the venue for a friendly with the Faroe Islands to be played on 16 November. Craig Levein's men, 57th in the FIFA ranking, will meet the world's 133rd-ranked team in Aberdeen next month. .

Levein said: "I am delighted that we have managed to arrange this friendly against the Faroe Islands, which will give me another opportunity to work with the group soon after that memorable night against Spain at Hampden Park. It was my original intention to arrange a B international but after initial enquiries by our football administration department, it became apparent that it would not be possible to arrange such a game. Anyone who watched the Faroes' 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland in their recent Euro 2012 qualifying match will know they are a well-organised unit under Brian Kerr and this match will be a competitive one for our squad. We also look forward to playing at Pittodrie and appreciate that a lot of our supporters come from the north-east of the country, travelling long distances to follow the team. I hope that by coming to them, we can attract another large turnout in Aberdeen."
