Iceland Not Planning On Throwing The Game

Scotland and Iceland are level on points ahead of tonight's Group Nine game and know the result will have a big impact on their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup. Set-pieces and aerial threats proved to be a problem for Scotland in Holland on Saturday which is why Aron Gunnarsson intends to make full use of his famous long throw to help Iceland snatch all three points at Hampden. Gunnarsson is famous for his long throw-ins, thanks to a career playing handball as a youngster, and insisted: "
I'm going to use it definitely and we will see what happens after that. I'll try to throw it as far as I can."

Iceland's other not-so-secret weapon is Barcelona star Eidur Gudjohnsen, who scored in the 2-1 defeat when the sides met in September last year. The Coventry City player said: "
Eidur is a top player and plays for a top team. You have to be good to play for a team like Barcelona, that's how it works." However, Gunnarsson was keen to play down Iceland's chances, claiming: "It's definitely going to be a hard game. Scotland have much better quality in their squad than we do. They have quality strikers. Darren Fletcher is also a quality player. But we just have to be prepared and concentrate on our own game. Scotland are favourites for second place but we will see. We just have to concentrate on ourselves and see what happens."
