Scotland lost Burnley striker Steven Fletcher for Wednesday's night's game against the Czech Republic after he broke a bone in his hand while training with the Scottish national team this morning. Fletcher is to return to Turf Moor where Clarets boss Brian Laws is hoping he will be fit for Saturday's trip to Arsenal. Fletcher is Burnley's top scorer with 11 goals so no wonder Laws wants to see him play. Laws said: "He has been for an x-ray and is coming back to us. We need to get it checked out again but we feel confident that he will be available to play at the weekend with some sort of cast."
A SFA spokesman confirmed that the former Hibs striker had picked up the injury when he fell during the training session at Hampden.Defender Andy Webster came through the session with no problems and is available for selection.Midfielder Lee McCulloch, however, remains a major doubt with his ankle injury but the final decision on his fitness will be made by manager Craig Levein tomorrow.
