Can Scotland Surprise The Favourites Again?

Who will be celebrating on Saturday?
Eighteen months ago underdogs Scotland sprung a surprise result away from home and recorded a famous victory. France were the stunned hosts that time around when the -never boring to watch on video - goal that separated the sides in the Parc des Princes was scored by James McFadden. This time around, Scotland are taking on the Netherlands in the Amsterdam ArenA and Scott Brown thinks that another surprise can be sprung - if their hosts underestimate them this weekend. Saturday's World Cup opponents sit top of Group Nine with a 100 per cent record and the last time they countries met, back in 2003, the home side delivered a 6-0 thrashing. This record will influence the thinking of Saturday's opposition. That is exactly the sort of thing Brown is hoping for, claiming George Burley's men will be much more dangerous if the Dutch have already written them off. The Celtic midfielder concedes that Scotland face a big challenge in Holland.

He said: "
If they think they are better than us, hopefully they won't give as much and we can show we are fitter and stronger. Hopefully they think 'it's just Scotland' and think they can get five or six goals and we can maybe surprise them. If you look at Paris, it can be done. We defended well and Faddy scored a great goal. I watched a lot of their games in EURO2008. They were very good. It will probably be one of the biggest tests of our careers."
