Brown Out Of Czech Game

Last updated : 06 October 2010 By Ed_ScottishFitba

Scotland will be without Celtic midfielder Scott Brown for their EURO2012 qualifier against Czech Republic due to an ankle injury. The Celtic captain was in contention for a key holding role in Friday night's showdown with the likes of Lee McCulloch, Kevin Thomson and Paul Hartley unavailable.

The former Hibs man has been struggling for full fitness since the start of last season, when he underwent surgery. A second operation midway through the campaign also failed to clear up the problem properly and Brown has been playing with pain since. Brown remains hopeful he will be fit enough to face World Cup winners and European champions Spain next Tuesday.
