Injuries will always come along in a contact sport but it is annoying to lose players when there is nothing at stake.
St Johnstone's Derek McInnes could have to do without Martin Hardie for Saturday's game against Hearts at Tynecastle. The midfielder picked up a knee injury in a behind-closed-doors game against Falkirk. Hardie had scored in the 5-1 victory, with Kevin Moon, Paul Sheerin, Peter MacDonald and a trialist also on the scoresheet. Manager McInnes said: "It was a good work-out for a number of players on a very heavy pitch but Martin's injury has overshadowed what was a very worthwhile exercise. We'll assess it over the next day or two but my early thoughts are that it could lead to Martin being out for a week or two." |
