C:WindowsTempphp3B2F.tmpLivingston will have long road ahead of them for tomorrow's Irn-Bru Cup game as a 300-mile journey south of the border is required to take on  Welsh champions, The New Saints in the second round  This will be the first time that the Lions will play a competitive game in Wales as they look for revenge in a reversal of last season’s IRN-BRU Cup quarter-final against the same opposition.  Livingston failed to convert their chances in torrential conditions back in November, going down 3-0 to a clinical TNS side which included a goal from former Motherwell and Dumbarton midfielder Steven Saunders.  In a bid to inspire the team to success ahead of the televised game, a piper dressed in a ginger coloured tartan will play famous football terrace tunes to help the Lions and their fans roar into action.

For the first time in Scottish football history, League of Ireland sides Sligo Rovers and Bray Wanderers entered the competition in the second round alongside cross-border teams TNS and Connah’s Quay Nomads from Wales, as well as Crusaders and Linfield from Northern Ireland.  Livingston’s away game will be broadcast live on S4C with a 2.45pm kick-off at Park Hall Stadium. The winners will go into the hat for the Irn_Bru Cup third round draw which will take place at 1.00pm on 5 September at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow.
