The World Cup brings the best players in the world together and three Hearts players could be part of the festival next year.
Hearts fans could have as many as three players to follow in the World Cup next year. Csaba Laszlo believes Laryea Kingston, Jose Goncalves and Ismael Bouzid could all be involved in South Africa and each of them are desperate to represent their respective countries. Midfielder Kingston is the most likely to be called upon to travel , as he is a regular member of the Ghana squad. Bouzid has not played for Algeria for some time but, after they drew England in Group C, he has every incentive to get himself back in the squad. Defensive partner Goncalves earned his maiden call-up to what was a provisional Portugal squad earlier this season and Hearts boss Laszlo believes he still has a chance of forcing his way into Carlos Queiroz's plans. Laszlo said: "I think Hearts of Midlothian is a club which has the possibility to send three players to the World Cup. Bouzid is a candidate for the squad and I think this is positive for Bouzid. Even Jose Goncalves - if he doesn't have an injury and he shows all the time this performance - is a candidate for the Portugal national team. For a club in Scotland at this level, it's a huge exposure to bring three players to the World Cup. I hope this dream will be realised for these players." Of course, there is nothing guaranteed in football and all three will have to be on the top of their game if they are to be called upon by their country. If they can deliver for Hearts there is a good chance they can attract interest from their national coaches. Singling out Kingston, who had previously angered his manager by defying club medical staff and playing for his country, Laszlo said: "Larry knows he must show that he would like also to help us. He can be a positive part of this team and he can also have a lot of plusses if he can have a good half season with us, especially for his position in the Ghana team for the World Cup." |
