Playing Second Division football is the prize of offer today as Stenhousemuir and Cowdenbeath play their match of the season.
Stenhousemuir and Cowdenbeath meet today in the second leg of the third Division play off final with men missing thanks to red cards in the first leg. Stenhousemuir will have to cope without Chris McLeod, who was sent off in the 0-0 first leg in midweek, but manager John Coughlin is not expecting an easy game despite being at home at Ochilview in the second leg. He said: "They will be disappointed not to have gone up by winning the title after being favourites for a long time and there is no doubt they will be up for it. Our players have already shown their desire as well, though, having come back to win this opportunity after a bad run of form looked to have killed us. Promotion was always the aim and we now have a game to achieve that."
Danny Lennon's Cowdenbeath travel with Darren McGregor who will not be available but will want to be involved in any celebrations that are going. McGregor was shown a straight red card for violent conduct in the 88th minute at Central Park but his absence could be allayed by Derek Fleming`s return to the squad after injury. Kenny Adamson and Brian Fairbairn will both still be on the sidelines, and manager Lennon said: "I hope it's an occasion to remember for the fans. They have stuck with us through the highs and the lows and the players are determined to win promotion for them." | Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)
