If you had the chance of paying what you thought was a fair price for a game, just how much would you pay?

East Stirling are looking to increase their gate when they play Albion Rovers at Ochilview on Wednesday, 17 March, by allowing fans to pay what they think the game will be worth.  They are following the example of Radiohead who allowed fans to download their most recent album by paying the price they thought was appropriate and ‘Shire are doing likewise for their Third Division game next month.

A club spokesperson said: "Both sets of fans can offer the turnstile operator 10p or £10, depending on what they can afford and feel is correct." This could turn out to be expensive for the club but hopefully it will generate a larger than usual crowd. Blue Square side Mansfield Town tried this when Gateshead visited Field Mill at the end of February and their attendance topped 7,250 fans against an average of 3,000.
