This weekend's enforced break from football could help Hibs get Ian Murray read for action.

With this weekend free due to Hearts ending their Scottish Cup interest in the last round, Hibs are looking forward to seeing Ian Murray make his comeback next week against Kilmarnock. The versatile Murray has been out for a month with a groin injury and manager Mixu Paatelainen even considered sending him to a specialist. But he is now set to challenge Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson for the Hibs left-back berth.

Paatelainen said: "
Ian's continuing to improve, he's feeling better and hopefully he will make next week as there is still plenty of time. Ian obviously has that bit more experience but Paul is a young player who can do the job there no problem, as is Lewis. However, Ian can also provide cover anywhere in the back four and, as he's shown many times before, he's more than capable in the middle of the park so it would be good to have him and his versatility available again."
