Contracts are coming to an end at the end of the year so players are on the look out for new oppportunities.
Will there be a new dawn breaking for Nicky Weaver in the New Year once his short-term contract at Dundee United comes to an end? The former Manchester City goalkeeper is "fully open to offers" with his contract at Tannadice due to finish in January. Weaver was signed by United as back up when they failed to secure the early release of Slovakian goalkeeper Dusan Pernis. However, Pernis has now with United and will be free to make his SPL debut from 1 January. This means that Weaver will be free to leave and he is hoping that his time with United has proved that he is over the injuries which have dogged his career. He said: "I still class myself as a decent age for a goalkeeper, I am 30 now and fully over my knee injury. It is just a case of waiting and if the phone rings then great. I wouldn't rule anything in and wouldn't rule anything out, a year ago I wouldn't have thought I would be playing in Scotland. I am fully open to all offers so it is just a matter of waiting and seeing what the future brings." |
