Scottish football is coming out of hibernation and clubs are looking to their fans to lend a hand - and a shovel - to ensure football gets played this weekend.  Dunfermline and Montrose have called for volunteers to clear their pitches of snow with the promise of hot drinks and pies!

The Pars, who have undersoil heating at East End Park, are due to welcome Queen of the South on Saturday and a spokesperson said: "
If anyone can help we would ask them to contact 01383 724295  01383 724295. It would be great if they could come along and even better if they could bring their own shovel."

Montrose’s artificial surface at Links Park does not get so affected by the weather but the snow still has to be cleared ahead of Elgin’s visit. Their spokesperson said:  "
We would request all supporters, friends and neighbours of the club, who are able to assist us clear the pitch, come along this Friday and Saturday morning. Please bring a shovel and we will supply sufficient hot drinks and food."
