City Line up against Valur in Reykjavik.JPGGlasgow City headed to Iceland for the second leg of their tie with Valur with a score-line of 1-1 from last Thursday game in Glasgow. They may have worried that they did not take enough advantage of the home game on their tight artificial pitch. However, they need not have worried as they ended the game in Reykjavik with a 3-0 win and move into the last 16. However it came at a cost as early in the second half Christie Murray was utterly halved by Laufey Olafsdottir who gets booked. Murray managed to carry on after treatment before getting scythed down again as the game moved into the final quarter. The referee was lenient in the extreme to the home side and no more cards were shown.

While Valur were looking to damage players, City were taking the more conventional route of winning a game. Thanks to an OG from Valur's Hallbera Gisladottir in the first half and a second-half double from Lisa Evans, City ran out worthy winners. They did have chance to increase the lead but will be content on the flight back that they have the win they wanted and look forward to the next round.
