Nobody likes distraction before a big game but Falkirk will have to cope with the interest in Darren Barr as they get ready for Europe.

While preparing for Falkirk's first foray into European competition, manager Eddie May is having to fend of predators from the capital who are interested in signing Darren Barr. Both Hibs and Hearts have been warned off by the Bairns boss who said it would take a '
crazy' bid to take Barr away from Falkirk. Of course, Barr is well known to Hibs manager John Hughes and Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo is a huge fan. The Bairns take on Vaduz of Liechtenstein in the second qualifying round of the Europa League tonight and May is keen to keep his and his players eye on the task in hand rather than be distracted by speculation over potential player moves. May said: "We won't sell Darren Barr. Not unless someone comes in with absolutely crazy money, he won't be going anywhere. It's not for us to put a figure on that, it's for someone else to come in with a bid. The board are more than happy for Darren to stay here for a long time."

The defender wouldn't be drawn on the speculation. "
I don't really want to talk about that kind of thing because we have got the game tomorrow and it's a big week for the club. I try to keep myself away from the reading the papers. There's a fresh start here, there's a new manager and a good feel to the place. I'm just concentrating on Falkirk and tomorrow night's game." May has plans to play Barr as a right-back this season, a position he saw the defender make his own in the Falkirk youth side. Barr says he has what it takes to play in either role and says that he's happy just being involved. Barr went on: "I just want to play football, there are new plans and a new manager. I think I've got it in me, I wasn't really surprised. When I was younger I started out as a right-back so I will just get on with it. I feel as if I have got a good enough spring to play at centre-half but I don't mind where I am playing, as long as I am playing."
