Time For Heroes

C:WindowsTempphpB0BC.tmpIt had to happen one day and that day was 21 May 2016. Hibs finally threw off the mantle of 114 years of waiting to add their name one more time to the Scottish Cup. The third time the famous Hibernian Football Club name appeared on the cup was the spark that allowed Hibs fanatic Ted Brack to complete his 'Time for Heroes' book with the fairy tale ending. He was one of the 150,000 people who thronged the streets of Edinburgh on Sunday 22 May to be part of the extended celebrations as the cup was paraded by the team. At the start of the 2015-16 season Brack, like every Hibs every year since 1902, had a feeling that this would be Hibs year. Unlike most, Brack kept a month by month journal of the campaign recording all the highs and lows along the way. Missing out in the League Cup Final and failing to secure promotion to the Premiership for another year were obvious lows and all highs were trumped by the day in May and the weight lifted off the Hibs team.

Somebody was bound to write a book about the triumph and Brack was first and his 'Time for Heroes' book is available now from Black and White publishing and the author will be happy to sign copies at Easter Road on Saturday 2 July 2016. Then foreword for the book could only be written by one man; the man that secured the cup for Hibs, captain David Gray, whose header in the 92nd minute sent the Hibs end crazy. A man who will never have to buy his own beer in Leith for the rest of his life.

'Time for Heroes' by Ted Brack is published by Black and White Publishing priced at £9.00 ISBN 978-1-78530-078-3.
