Things Are Getting Better At Dens

C:WindowsTempphpC678.tmpDundee manager Paul Hartley was full of praise for Craig Wighton's performance as he stole the show against Motherwell on Saturday. The young striker had a huge hand in both goals which secured all three points. Speaking after the game Hartley said: "I felt he was a real handful for Motherwell today. We worked on it during the week, getting him into good positions, I thought he had a terrific game, along with Haber, the two of them worked really well together, that was pleasing. I thought as a team we defended as a team and attacked as a team."

Marcus Haber headed off on international duty this week to join up with the Canadian squad in Korea, before which he signed off with his first goal for Dundee.  The Dens Park manager can see the difference the new signing has made, saying: "
Marcus has definitely made a difference in terms of the ball coming up to him and sticking. People can make runs and movement off him. He’s a handful but he has good feet, when it comes into him he takes it, pleased for him to get his goal also."

The weekend's opening goal came from right back Cammy Kerr, scoring his first competitive goal for the club, with his manager happy to see his development. Hartley went on: "
He had a great game again today and continued from last week. He has a fantastic attitude, he’s learning all the time, he has a couple of things he needs to improve on but we saw with the goal, he kept going. I’m pleased for him but for the team also. It’s another good result and a home result also, our first home win of the season, that’s the pleasing aspect.  There is no doubt we were the team on top and in the ascendancy. There was only one team that looked like they were going to win the team. I thought we were comfortable the way we handled things.  We are going to continue to work hard, that will be the key thing for us, keep working hard. We’ve not done anything yet. We have had another good result, another clean sheet, we’ve got to keep working hard."
