C:WindowsTempphp6E14.tmpMorton have confirmed details of a friendly against a Swansea City’s Select XI side. Swans striker Alex Samuel was with the Greenock side on loan last season, and through that initial contact the two clubs have developed closer links off the field. As part of the relationship a challenge game has been arranged at Cappielow on Tuesday 26 July, with a 19.30pm kick-off.
 
Gary Richards and Cameron Toshack’s development squad finished third in English Premier League Division Two and are sure to provide a tough test for manager Jim Duffy’s side. The Welshmen have scheduled a mini pre-season tour of Scotland over a five-day period in which they will also play Falkirk and Hamilton Accies. Greenock will be the first stop on their trip, and it is expected that the Welsh side will be backed by in the region of 500 to 600 fans for the game to be seated in Sections F & G of the main stand and the Cowshed will be opened for the Morton faithful in addition to the main stand.
