C:WindowsTempphpF2B.tmpStevie Aitken remains positive about Dumbarton's next three big games after one win and one defeat against strong opponents over the past week. The Dumbarton manager considered last weekend's 3-2 loss to Raith Rovers and said: "We put in a really good first half performance, continuing where we left off against Queen of the South. But we didn't start the second half well. We gave away cheap possession three of four times, which was frustrating as we had gone in with a lead.  So we're disappointed at the goals we lost. It's been a tough week. But we've won one and lost one - and the important thing is that we are still in a strong position."

The Dumbarton manager was not in the mood to accept that the players may have been affected by tiredness despite key games that keep coming thick and fast. Speaking after Satruiday's reverse, Aitken went on: "We shot ourselves in the foot today. We never got going in the second half and Raith are a very good side, as they showed. There's a reason they're sitting fourth in the league."

However, Aitken stressed that the focus was now on the St Mirren game and on getting the points needed to secure their place in a highly competitive Championship for another season. Sons remain five points ahead of Livingston, who remain in the relegation play-off place after this weekend's results with three games to go till the end of the season.
