Team Effort From Hearts

Hearts opening goal hero praises the team ethic
He said: "I can't even put it into words. It's my first goal for Hearts and it was an important goal as well, coming at a vital time. Nothing beats that. If I'm being honest I actually couldn't believe it myself. I would imagine my dad and brother had me on first goalscorer because I'm probably due one. It's just crazy. I scored against Dunfermline but that was classified as an own goal."
Hearts developed an enviable team spirit during a season of adversity when salaries were not paid on time. It was obvious in their play and celebrations that they were playing for each other and the team and not for personal glory. Hearts other goals came from Rudi Skacel (two), a Grainger penalty and a Ryan McGowan header sealed their biggest win over Hibs for almost 10 years. Barr added: "I know I scored but it's the winners' medal that counts. It doesn't matter about myself, it's about the team and the team played excellent."
Barr played in an advanced central midfield role ahead of Ian Black and helped put a poor Hibs under pressure. Barr struggled to get into the Hearts team for the first 18 months of his Tynecastle career but has now written himself into club folklore. He said: "Maybe I didn't start so well at Hearts but you need to plug away and whatever position you put me in, I'm more than happy to play. That's what I'm at the club for, I just want to play football and play for Hearts."
