C:WindowsTempphpEC57.tmpInverness may have to do without the services of Scott Boyd for tonight's League Cup tie against Hibs as the two struggling sides meet in Dingwall. County remain stuck at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership after seven successive defeats and Boyd was injured towards the end of their latest reverse, Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Aberdeen. Uros Celcer (hamstring) and Steven Saunders (ankle) are again expected to miss out for County

Manager Jim McIntyre said: “Scott got a dead leg - it was a sore one and he will probably struggle to be available for Tuesday night. Hibs will be a difficult match for us. They have good players but we are the home team and the Scottish Premiership team so this is a chance to get a win under our belts and that is all you can ask for.”

Like McIntyre, Hibs manager Alan Stubbs will be praying for an upturn in his side's fortunes, beginning with this third-round tie. Hibs lost their fourth Championship game out of six on Saturday when they went down 1-0 to Queen of the South and are 10 points adrift of Edinburgh rivals Hearts.

Stubbs said: "I spoke to the players and told them that you get opportunities very quickly in football to put things right and Tuesday will be one of those occasions. We need to stop giving teams a goal head start and silly goals, and we need to be the team that (gets the good start), it may be one that comes off someone’s backside or whatever but we will take it at this moment in time because you need a bit of luck."

Hibs came from 2-0 down to beat Dumbarton 3-2 in the last round while County recorded their only win of the season at the same stage, winning 2-1 at Stranraer.
